Travel Consultant – Sales


A naturally customer-focused Travel Consultant with a professional and consultative approach who can demonstrate a flair for dealing with high end clients is required to sell villa and apartment rentals for tailor made bespoke holidays for a successful, established company creating authentic and memorable holidays for their customers.

Based in modern premises along an award-winning High Street in North London, our travel experts have first-hand knowledge of all our varied destinations including Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

The successful Travel Consultant will handle all e-mail and telephone enquiries whilst working toward developing their product knowledge in order to effectively recommend the most suitable villa or apartment along with additional services including private jet arrangements, car hire, yacht charter as well as villa concierge services such as chef placement, day trips and restaurant bookings. To succeed in this role, a genuine customer first approach is required, coupled with the ability to listen and interpret our customer’s ideas of what an idyllic holiday means to them and then to assemble complex itineraries and go that extra mile to meet the clients request.

The ideal candidate will preferably have previous successful sales experience, training can be provided to less experienced applicants with a professional, commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering the telephone and dealing with customer enquiries by phone
  • Responding to e-mail enquiries/web chats/phone chats from customers
  • Taking reservations from customers by e-mail or phone with an emphasis on recommending a suitable villa or apartment appropriate to the customer’s requirements and that of his / her party
  • Sourcing flights, car hire, yacht charter, private jet and other additional extras and putting forward quotations for customers bespoke holidays
  • Organise all the necessary documentation so high standards of accuracy are essential
  • Ensure that the correct documentation e.g. an invoice is sent and payment is collected


Skills and Experience

  • Motivated by meeting KPI’s and selling to target.
  • Interested in widening their sales abilities and knowledge so that advice can be given to
    customers from genuine experience.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to put together complex tailor-made holidays. This is an essential skill.
  • Knowledge of our client’s primary geographical markets including Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Italy would be highly beneficial
  • Pleasant friendly telephone manner
  • Sales skills & experience with a strong leaning to delivering excellent service is essential
  • Professional approach to work
  • Experience working with computer reservations systems (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Administrative skills, able to manage multiple complex bookings at the same time and take ownership of your work.
  • Undertake educational trips to visit the destinations – a valid passport is essential
  • This is a full-time position with some early / late starts and working to a rota of 40 hours per week spread over 7 days. Weekend work will be required during busy booking periods. Time off in lieu given.

Salary

This position will start as a contractual position for up to 6 months whereupon if the candidate is successful, a permanent full-time position may be offered. Pay will be dependent on experience and will include uncapped commission on sales achieved.
